Others are traditional textbook classes that have been modified (with publisher permission of course) to work in an online environment. Sometimes the modification is minor such as converting quizzes and exams to run in Moodle's quiz tool. Sometimes, with the live Elluminate classes so much is hand-created, even though it is based on a text, that the number of hours put into it are about the same as it would be to have made it from scratch.

About Me:: I graduated from North Dakota State University with a B.A. in English and have been working at the North Dakota Center for Distance Education since June of 1994. I spend about ¼ of my time teaching online English courses (grades 9-12) and the remainder of the time doing Instructional Design work.

Professionally, I am a member of NACOL (North American Council for Online Learning) and serve as a board member for AACIS (American Association of Collegiate Independent Study).
